Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Sharon, a white woman with grey hair wearing a crown, hugs her brown cat mary

Sharon Mullally-- I grew up in a family that always housed cats and dogs. My two sisters and I brought home numerous stray animals that our mother would either keep or rehome. Of the numerous animals that would come and go, a constant was a dog cat named Felix who lived to almost 20. My mother's pride and joy, he was her constant companion and guardian of all who shared our home. I never realized how unique his personality was until owning cats of my own. And through these cat relationships realizing how individual and unique every cat IS!

I am now a mom to 4 cats, 2 dogs, and a few two-legged animals. But it is the relationship with the cat that most "intrigues" me. It's said you can't train a cat. But it seems-- with unconditional love, praise, direction, and patience you can bend them slightly to your will--if they're up for it. Training or not, my cats are certainly a different bunch of characters, and I enjoy the uniqueness of each of them daily. My life is richer because of them. Whether you are here to enjoy a feline friend or looking for your forever roommate, I welcome you to relax and find your happiness at Comfort & Joy Cat Cafe'.

Carol, a white women with blone hair and black sunglasses, with her black cat Bink, who is all black with yellow eyes

Carol Lawrence Guinta--  I am from a long line of cat lovers.

As a kid, I adopted a gray cat from the neighborhood and named her "Willow". I found a magical friendship with a cat, who licked away my tears and was my constant companion.

In my career as a photojournalist, I photographed "Pet of the Week" for years while working for the Gazette. I realized the importance of rescue and adoption groups that play a part in the destiny of many of the cats that find a second chance in life through these agencies. I am ready to hold a position where I can answer to my emotions and work for a cause I truly believe in.

I am hopeful Comfort and Joy Cat Cafe will provide an atmosphere that helps reduce stress in both human visitors and the adoptable cats that live there. And mostly I hope we can help reduce the number of cats on the streets, in shelters waiting for homes.
